Tyger Tyger delivers elevated brunch, lunch and dinner menus inspired by the bold flavors and exotic spices discovered in street food carts of southeast Asia in a casual counter-service cafe. Our menu is scratch-made from the year-round local bounty of fresh produce, seafood, and proteins of the Central Coast. Tyger Tyger is located inside a modern and dynamic 1,900 square foot marketplace covered in hot pink lanterns with a canary-themed wallpapered ceiling. Tyger Tyger shares space with its sister business Monkeyshine that serves Asian inspired frozen organic fruit pops, organic soft serve ice cream with housemade “taikyaki” fish-shaped waffle cones. Locally owned Dart Coffee Company rounds out the market offerings.

Chef Daniel Palaima

Daniel Palaima leads the kitchen staff at Tyger Tyger. Chef Daniel is Santa Barbara born-and-raised who returned home from Chicago after stints with chefs Grant Achatz at Next and Stephanie Izard at Duck, Duck, Goat. Palaima’s culinary career was launched locally at hometown favorites, Brothers at Mattei’s Tavern in Los Olivos and Root 246 in Solvang.

Katy Babcock, Manager

Katy was home birthed and raised in Carpinteria but did spend some childhood years in Lake Tahoe. Katy attended culinary school at Santa Barbara City College. She says that food service and hospitality have always been a driving focus for her and source of fulfillment in her life. Katy loves the feeling of family in the guest relationships she and the team create and hopes to grow more, personally and professionally, every year.
